A Not-for-Profit With a Creative Heart Sweet Paper Creations is part of Moritas Ltd, a small not-for-profit organisation with a big vision. We started with a simple idea: what if something as joyful as a piñata could also help support people struggling with their mental health? Since launching our online shop, we’ve used the funds from every piñata sale to run mental health community projects in London, offering creative workshops designed to bring people together and support emotional wellbeing. Our “Mental Matters” workshops are open to everyone and provide a safe, welcoming space to create, connect and express through art. We believe that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to support that is both effective and meaningful. And for many people, especially those who might feel overlooked or isolated, creative therapy can be the spark that makes all the difference. What Makes Our Piñatas Special? Why Mental Health Matters to Us
Mental health challenges can affect anyone. They don’t discriminate, and they don’t always show on the outside. But too often, people are left to cope alone or face long waits for support. That’s why we created “Mental Matters”, a workshop series aimed at making help more accessible and more human. Held in friendly, inclusive spaces, these workshops bring people together to craft, talk and share in a way that’s relaxed and pressure-free. We’ve seen first-hand how powerful creative expression can be — not just in providing a distraction, but in offering real tools for coping and healing. Whether someone is experiencing anxiety, loneliness, grief or stress, having a space to be creative, to be heard and to be around others can be a lifeline. What started as simple piñata-making sessions has blossomed into something truly special. We've seen how powerful creativity can be—not just as a form of self-expression, but as a way to bring people together, build confidence, and spark healing. Our future plans include expanding into other craft-based sessions and art therapy programmes that explore everything from piñatas to lino printing. Not only this, but we want to act as an employment stepping stone; whether through volunteering, internships, or this paid employment, we want to give those out of work for mental health reasons a chance to learn new skills and build confidence to move from us into careers they aspire to. We aspire to be a place where healing happens through art and community, because everyone deserves a safe space to tell their story, everyone deserves to be supported, especially during their most difficult moments and everyone deserves the chance to find joy again—even if that joy starts with something as simple as a piñata. A Community-Led Vision We’re proud to be part of the London community and are constantly inspired by the people we meet through our workshops and projects. From young people navigating tough transitions to adults managing long-term conditions or simply needing a creative outlet, each person brings something unique to the space. And because we’re a non-profit, every decision we make is guided by our values, not our bottom line. That means we’re always looking for new ways to give back, support more people and create positive change through creativity. Whether it’s collaborating with local schools, partnering with mental health organisations or training facilitators to run workshops in other areas, our mission is to keep growing in ways that are inclusive, sustainable and deeply human.
