our mission and passionSweet Paper Creations are part of a small not-for-profit business (Moritas ltd); with its purpose being to support those with poor mental health, with a vision to develop creative, craft workshops in the local community.
Our love for all things creative is matched by our passion and commitment to deliver services that provide joy and satisfaction to everyone in our community through the means of piñatas (all of which are made using recyclable materials) Since we opened our online shop, we have used our profits to establish and deliver our “Mental matters” piñata workshops for people of all ages and backgrounds who might be suffering from poor mental health. While my children were growing up we used to make Piñatas as a fun activity for their birthday parties, and when my eldest (Ali) was suffering from mental health issues, I didn’t know how to help or motivate them so I reverted back to making piñatas as a relief strategy and invited Ali to join me.
The more we worked together the more we were able to communicate and relax and positively release what we were both feeling, while navigating through life with its mental health issues. We have experienced the positive effect that this creative outlet can have on individuals suffering poor mental health.
As a result, the idea of putting together a series of piñata workshops to support others who are suffering from mental health issues as well as the carers and family, was born.
